Discussion Takeaways
- Hebni Nutrition Consultants is a nutrition education organization located in Orlando, Florida. The name HEBNI stands for Health Empowerment Through Behavioral and Nutritional Initiatives.
- Fresh Stop is HEBNI's biggest program. It is a mobile farmers market program that goes to neighborhoods without major grocery stores. The program aims to increase access to fresh produce in those neighborhoods.
- Your zip code today is the biggest determining factor of your overall health.
- Redlining is a systemic discrimination. It is where banks and financial institutions intentionally reduce or eliminate access to funds in certain neighborhoods that causes the deterioration of communities.
- Glen helps create an environment where people come together around food and where they are socially connected.
- Food dignity is being able to have access to the foods that you enjoy eating, but to do it in a healthy, nutritional, and practical manner.

I learned so many powerful lessons in this episode that really got me thinking.
I loved learning how much Hebni does for the community. I learned about redlining, food apartheid, and how asking “How can I help you?” goes a long way in the community. Glen’s definition of food dignity was one I hadn’t ever thought of before.
Clancy, great interview! Thanks
